Refurbished centre excellent Really loved the whole of my relaxed 90 min visit here. Well organised and run. The most beautiful audio visuals- the short movie is so well- made. Don’t miss it . Excellent experience After having lost our way (even while using Google maps) and due to serious lack of signposts to Iniskeen on small country roads we had a well worth while visit to the Patrick Kavanagh Centre. While there, we found information about Patrick Kavanaghs life on excellent and easy to use digital displays. We were also able to sit and listen to some of his brilliant poems while images of the poet and the lovely Monaghan countryside were being displayed. A must for Patrick Kavanagh fans! Very nicely curated exhibition on the life and work of Patrick Kavanagh. I suggest starting with the touch screens on your right as you enter the exhibition space and work your way around in a clockwise direction to follow his story in chronological order. Tiptop Experience at Patrick Kavanagh Centre I visited the Patrick Kavanagh Centre with my sister. What a wonder-full visit we had. The exhibitions are very special with lots to see & do. It was an informative, educational & a very moving experience. My abiding memory will be the warmth, friendliness & helpfulness of the staff at the center. The whole experience lifted our hearts. Excellent telling of a poet’s story Wonderful telling of the story of Patrick Kavanagh. Clever use of family and personal artifacts along with an excellent touch screen presentation on the different periods of his life. Lots of interesting asides - he met Alan Ginsberg in New York and was an extra in a movie with Deborah Kerr. A wonderfully lyrical audio presentation and a very welcoming staff.
