Sudden Wells

Castleblayney born Michael Gallen is best known as a composer of outstanding choral and orchestral works for RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the Irish National Symphony Orchestra and many others, and as the creator of award-winning operatic works, such as Elsewhere and his award winning The Curing Line, which premieres in 2026 and has recently received the Fedora Prize, the world’s largest award for new opera.

This concert offers a chance to see Michael working on a much more intimate scale with his new project Sudden Wells, a four-piece band that combines the lyrical quality of Gallen’s singing and piano-playing with pulsating arrangements. With a debut album due out later this year, this rare gig is a wonderful chance to experience Gallen’s extraordinary songs in a unique setting.
