‘A Hole In Heavens Gable’ by Geraldine Martin

Geraldine Martin is no stranger to the Kavanagh story.  A local Inniskeen woman, with a wonderful talent for depicting rural and urban scenes in her art, Geraldine has also contributed hugely to the Patrick Kavanagh Centre as a graphic designer.  Many will recognise her work from previous Kavanagh Weekends and the Inniskeen Road July Evening festival, where Geraldine was responsible for memorable branding, poster and brochure design.  This exhibition is an opportunity to celebrate Geraldine as an artist in her own right and we are delighted that these eight artworks will be on display throughout the Kavanagh Weekend, which takes place from 26th until the 28th September.  ‘A Hole in Heavens Gable’ will then move on to Carrickmacross Civic Offices where it will be on display for four weeks from the week starting 6th October.

‘A Hole In Heavens Gable’ will be launched as part of Culture Night 2025 in Inniskeen Round Tower Church, Friday 19th Sept, 7pm.  There will also be a performance from renowned traditional musicians Tiarnan O’Duinnchinn and Donal McCague.

Culture Night from 7pm, Free Entry, Round Tower Church, Inniskeen.

Also will be on display throughout Kavanagh Weekend 26th – 28th Sept.  Check programme for Round Tower Church opening times.
